Re: Reverse conversion, html back to qwb

It takes time and incredible patience but I have converted old "HoTMetaL" web sites to Qwb by using a web browser to download all the images then glued it all back together afterwards. You might find it useful to download an entire existing web site locally using "HTTrack Website Copi...

Re: Lost http (etc) data on upgrade

I think that depends on which OS you are using.
I use Linux and the file called ".Quick 'n Easy Web Builder 10" in my home folder holds all the site settings and publish information. Note the leading dot, it means it is hidden to normal directory searches.

Version 10.3

For some reason I can download version 10.3 but not open it. 27.8MB arrives but doesn't get saved. The Forum announcement still says 10.2 is the latest version. Possibly something here is rejecting it because the file is dated November 14 but today is November 13. Can you confirm it is genuine and t...

Re: Ubuntu 20.04.6 and Linux Mint 20.3 - Quick 'n Easy Web Builder 10.1.1

If Pablo's solution doesn't work, try installing "gdebi", it's a graphical deb file installer that automatically tries to install dependencies. It should be in the Ubuntu repository.

Looks like you have an out of date library installed.
Firstly, check you are using the correct 32-bit or 64-bit version to match the OS.
Next make sure your Linux is up to date with "sudo apt-get update".
Then try: "sudo apt-get install libc6".

Try opening a terminal window and installing and running from there, it may still fail but the error messages it produces will stay visible in the window. Let us know what the messages say.

Using 23.04 here with no problems.

Re: Docking of pannels

I use Kubuntu rather than Ubuntu so the desktop may be different but docking in my system can be enabled and disabled in the Window management section of settings:
System settings/Window Management/Movement/Window snap zone
There is probably something similar in your settings.

Q about animated text cube extension

I've been using a combination of 'animated text cube' and 'captcha_answer' to keep spambots at bay and it seems to work very well except for a curious anomaly, one side of the cube is never visible unless expanded and even then the text is only seen from behind so it looks reversed. Example here: ht...

Struggling to embed Summernote editor

I understand this is a third party product but ask for help incorporating it into Qnewb 10. I have followed the instructions in the documentation and the Summernote editor files are correctly installed on the server. If I copy the demo from Summernote's web site to a page on my site it works as expe...

Linux Version 10, Publishes OK, html seems OK and attributes of the _db file are changed to 777. The published page looks fine with the default "If you are reading this, then it looks like everything is working." message showing. The Admin login work and correctly checks for the correct na...

Experimental security check

I've been mailbombed by robots that seem to circumvent all kinds of Captcha so I tried making something of my own. The page below is part of an 'under construction' site but the contact pages seem ready to use. The anti-robot check is a combination of the animated text cube and "Questions &...

Re: Can´t preview after updating system to Linux 22.04

I've been investigating, it doesn't appear to be directly related to 'snap' installations but a change to Firefox that stops it viewing ANY local file. I've tried "about:config" settings but nothing seems to make it work. Even entering the PC's IP address or 'localhost' as the root URL doe...

Re: Can´t preview after updating system to Linux 22.04

I'm seeing the same problem after updating Kubuntu to 22.04. Assuming you are using Firefox, the problem seems to be related to it being a 'snap' installation rather than a normal program. I have it set as default browser and the preferred program to open HTML files but it still says the file doesn'...

Re: Loading software

I'm on the west coast of Wales, about 10 miles north of Aberystwyth. A deb package should contain its own installer. It is a self-extracting file containing the program and associated data files and a script to install it. You run a deb file rather than install it. As it runs, the files are extracte...
