Re: Does upgrade mean re-write?

OK. Yes, the new version 6 has opened all my old V5 qwb files OK, and I can work on them Sadly its a nightmare finding all the old settings to send material to the server. I shall have to reload up to V5 again and copy them all out by long-hand. Perhaps for the next upgrade you might consider arrang...

Does upgrade mean re-write?

I'm anxious to upgrade to version 6 of the software, and just wondered if this meant I would have to rebuild every web page once again using that, or can the software just take the old v5 files and churn out codee in v6 for it? I can't see anything about it in the other messages, but recall struggli...

Re: Separate pages for WWW.domain or just http://(domain)

Just one last attempt to get an answer I can understand, should I be sending onto the server both a version of the site with WWW, and one without. (I'm now on https). Nothing at all in my hosting / server instructions about this. I understand that the software doesnt control the server, the question...

Chunky Item of type 8 bits ????

suddenly got V5 being difficult. Very slow loading, and giving me spinn ing beach ball after every change. Sometimes it settles down, and then sometimes I am locked out and can only Force QUit and reopen. Message says there is an error in a box and this message: Expected chunk item of type '8bits ui...

Re: Separate pages for WWW.domain or just http://(domain)

Im confused now; I was sure a previous copmment on here said it was taken care of automatically. So just to clarify, we should sut up a duplicate set of pages, one with www. and one without? Presumably these would share the constituent objects, and we need only put up two html files, for the basic p...

Re: Objects position randomly

Thanks Pabo
the HTMLs you refer to are forms , generated by my Auto Responder supplier (A Weber)>
I shall switch to displaying a simple graphic and a link behind that going to their page containing the form mechanics. (Until I find time to learn to build my own forms.)

Re: Objects position randomly

Thanks for those points Brian. I had tucked a few pictures over the Nav bar, for visual effect,. but the Navigation Bar should relaly be above all others, so it can be seen when clicked on. When making pages responsive (they should be!) I need to hide some objects, so I normally give them a vertical...

Re: Objects position randomly

Thanks Guys, I hadnt checked with other browsers. Its seems just Safari is the problem and its suddenly lost all sense of diorection. Onone of our Macs an object splits itself in two around the Nav Bar, with the bottom half shooting off about 4 inches down the page. I thought I was hallucinating! I ...

Objects position randomly

PAGES EXPLODED !!! Suddenly every page looks wonderful in PREVIEW, but after putting them onlione, is all jumbled. It looms like the page exploded and objsctes (images mainl;y) shoot off randomly. Ive tried moving objects to where they should be, but they they go somewhere else. I have incrementally...

Re: AWeber Forms incomplete

Seems I must now buy some books on writing code to learn what on earth is going on. But I simply havent got the spar...

Re: AWeber Forms incomplete

To see the screenshots look here http://worldofradio.co.uk/ScreenShotWeberForms.jpg The view on the left is the Sign Up Box seen by pressing PREVIEW in QnEWB, The one on the right is as it appears online. How can I make this "WYSIWYG' - do I need to tinker with the Weber code or something? Otherwsie...

Re: AWeber Forms incomplete

Apologies - I popsed up the wrong code above. The correct code, which previously worked OK, is <!-- AWeber Web Form Generator 3.0.1 --> <style type="text/css"> #af-form-115801636 .af-body .af-textWrap, #af-form-115801636 .af-body .af-selectWrap{width:98%;display:block;float:none;} #af-form-115801636...

AWeber Forms incomplete

I have used AWeber forms on websites laoded up by Quickneasy Web Builder before and not nboticed any problems. Suddenly the forms have started appearing online with only the boxes, and nothing else. Pre-publishing they look fine, when using the PREVIEW button, but after going on the server, everythi...

Separate pages for WWW.domain or just http://(domain)

Some notes from Google Analytics suggest that I should treat files with www before the domain as seperate to ones wthat just have http:// (domain). I never realised this. I cant find anywhjere in the manual that says how to reload the folders up seperately - doi I need to do that even, or is there s...

Re: Sitemap

Im getting back advice from google and an SEO specialist company, that there is no SITEMAP and no ROBOTS.txt file with my site. Why is this? The above answers say its generated automatically, and the HELP file suggests it is. In the root (public_html) area of my hosting I can see sitemal.xml, but it...
