Lost publish profiles with Version 5

Post by hrk » Thu Jul 13, 2017 3:19 pm

Hello.

I just upgraded to V 5.0.3, and already have a problem: the publish profiles I used with version 3 do not show in the version 5 Publish Menu.

How can I get V5 to retrieve these profiles?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find it in the forum.

Thanks in advance.

Hi.

Thank you for the pointer, it solves my problem of retrieving the information I need to reestablish the publish locations: I decided not to try copying registry data from one entry to the other.

However, I would like to suggest that you do something to provide a more straightforward way of moving values from existing Q&Easy configurations to a new version: playing with Registry entries is not something any user wants to or should be doing.

Cheers.

The problem is that QWB is a multi platform application.
Not all platforms support the same features. For example, on a Mac you cannot access the configuration of another app/version for security reasons.
The same may be true for Linux.

I work with softwares that have the same problem: they kept the config data in .ini files in Unix/Linux and for the sake of Windows compliance stored the same data in the registry.

Lately they threw compliance to **** and now keep everything in .ini files on all platforms. May be an idea to follow...

Cheers.
