Automatic Page cancels Centre in Browser

Post by DaleHubert » Sun Aug 27, 2017 3:45 pm

Using Ver 5 the page is set to be centred in the browser and it was, until I selected True for Automatic Page.

These two pages are clones except one has Automatic Page set to False and the other to True.
This page shows Automatic Page set to False and the content is centred: http://www.littenlaw.com/QE1.html
This page shows Automatic Page set to True and the content is left justified: http://www.littenlaw.com/QE2.html

I expected Automatic Page to deal with the length rather than the position. Is there a way to have Automatic Page and Centre in Browser at the same time?

Thanks

If you want to use Automatic Page Size and Centre in Browser at the same time, then you need to make sure all objects are inside the page boundaries.
For example, if the desired page width is 970 then all objects should be centered inside the 970 viewport.

Note however that Automatic Page Size is becoming obsolete with responsive web design and layout grids. Because for breakpoints the page width should be the same as the breakpoint max-width value.
And for layout grids there is no fixed page width or center in browser because the grid determines the alignment of the content.
