I have been evaluating the previous release 8.3.1 and the preview worked for testing out that links were working, as long as you previewed from the top level.
I recently bought the 8.4.0 Mac App Store edition and I can't get the links to work with the preview option.
To test that the links work I have to publish the site and then load that on my browser.
Is this a deliberate change to the function?

I am very sorry, what happened is that 8.4.0 changed the previously set options. I just needed to set the Preview in Browser menu to Preview Entire website, and it was back to how it was.
It works fine now.
