German Umlaute

Post by peroed » Mon Dec 12, 2016 4:24 pm

Hi,

I started experimenting with the Forms Wizard. Works great so far.

Only one problem: If the user is typing one of the famous german Umlaute (äüö) the generated e-mail
contains special characters but is basically not readable.

Input in the form: Sänitsweg
Result in E-email: Säntisweg

How can I fix this? I have absolutely no experience with PHP (my website is using 5.6).
Any help greatly appreciated.

Did you set 'accept charset' (in the form's properties) to UT8?

Hi Pablo:
I had the same problem and did the sam fix.... but:
If I use the field validation, restricting the data entry in a specific field to "TEXT", these Umlauts are rejected! Am I right or is there a possibility to accept Umlauts in "TEXT" mode?

I think you will need to create a custom regular expression for that.
