(new) links styles are transparent by default. Only if you set the background color, it will have a solid background.

Note: based on the screenshot it looks like you are using an old (unsupported) version.

I don't really have money to buy again the software. Is there something we can do regarding this?

If you create a new hyperlink style then it will be transparent, unless you select a background color yourself.

Hi Pablo

When we use shadow and blur the background will be gray, no matter is we recreate them from scratch or not.
Any ideas?
Best Regards

Hi Pablo

My problem is in the sequence of this forum thread. It's about the transparent background of link styles. If we create a new link style and do not touch in the background color, the link will have a gray background if we use the shadow effect. The background color edit popup does not have any transparency option. If we try to edit a color, use the system color editing and use transperency from there, it will not be respected. I'm using the MacOS and the latest Q&E version from the App Store (5.4.2). See attached image for details. The one in the left has a text style without link. In the right is the text using link styles edited from the link style editor from the "links" dialog box.
Best Regards

PS: If we turnoff the underline option, it will also remain on no matter what we do.

I was not able to reproduce this myself
Please described the exact steps to make it not work (step by step)?

Note that if you set the color to RGB 254, 254, 254 then it will be transparent.

Hi Pablo

The procedure was simple. I've picked up a label from the image on the left and crated a link from it. In the link creation dialog box, I've went to link styles and created a style similar to the one in the picture - Yellow text, underline off, did not touch the background color and finally created a shadow with blur and offset using 3 and 2 respectively. The background appears as you see in the image on the right. Your suggestion to change the background RGB values seem to be a very good idea but unfortunately, QnE seems to have trouble in use values inputed by using the MacOS color picker accessed by using the "More colors" option from the background color selector. I solved this by creating the link, use the link style and, after, re-apply the text style that you can see in the left image. This working pretty great. However it would be better if it could be done directly from the link styles editor.
Best Regards
