Fonts not showing as selected

Post by ppmrent » Tue Sep 26, 2017 4:20 pm

On my website there MUST be a specific font FF Scala Sans" and it MUST small caps, I can make it Scala Sans but it will not publish the small caps, I've selected in the the font format and while I'm on the design page it will show, if I preview it will not, if I publish it doesn't, then it shows Scala Sans but a mix of caps and lower case. I can get it to do ALL caps but it isn't the mixture of Regular caps and small caps like "small caps" is supposed to do.

I am including the web address:

http://cuhouses.com/

Under the logo where it says "Heartland Real Estate" that is supposed to be Scala Sans small caps how do I fix this?

Hi ppmrent:
Why don't you implemente this as a graphic/image?

I didn't post it as an image, because it was as an image and I was told that I was in violation, the only reason that I would be in violation, is because they "inspect" the element and see that it is in Scala sans.

This:
http://quickandeasywebbuilder.com/webfonts.html

isn't helpful because the I have done that already and added the font etc, it is the "small caps" checkbox doesn't seem to do anything, it is not making the font "Small caps" So I am not sure if I am doing something wrong.

The problem is that the font definition (Scala Sans) does not match the font family name (ScalaSans Caps).
Did you manually configure the font?

I did manually configure the font. It was in ScalaSans Caps font, because when I configured for Scala Sans it will not make the font small caps, so I tried ScalaSans Caps, which I can get to appear as caps but won't publish as caps or small caps. I did finally use an image instead to prevent the fine we would receive for not being in compliance, but I still don't understand why the "small caps" won't work

The name in the configuration should match the name of the font-family.
If the names are different then the browser does not know which font to use.

I configured for Scala Sans, that didn't make the small caps work, so I then used ScalaSans Caps to try to make it work... I didn't configure for ScalaSans Caps, I just used ScalaSans Caps font, it didn't work either way

Maybe the font was not designed to be used on websites?

The font is the required font for the website, century21.com (corporate offices) have that font on their website. Either way I don't understand why there is a checkbox for small caps if it doesn't work?

Fonts are rendered by the system/browser. The software has no control over what the fonts looks like.
Either way I don't understand why there is a checkbox for small caps if it doesn't work?
Where in the software did you find this checkbox?

In the formatting for the font: i.e. highlight the text you want to format, click "format", click "font", and in the pop-up for text formatting that comes up there is a checkbox for small caps

I think what you are referring to this is a standard Mac option, this functionality does not work with HTML.

I guess I just assumed that with the option that the font would be available, I have done a work around at this point.
