Post by Infidal » Sat Sep 06, 2014 7:39 pm

OK so i decided to create a web site for my Amateur Radio hobby. Been thinking about it for a while and the biggest problem i have is that i can never think of anything to say. So here it is for you approval/disapproval :|

Hi Infidel,

my comments:

I am no friend of so many gadgets instead of real content..... so I am happy at least you did not pur music on the site ;-)

1. I dont like the "visitors flag counter"..doesnt give me useful information
2. I dont like "revolvemaps"....... I DO know where I live.
3. The repeating part of the page (mastwerpage) proportion is too big compared to the real contents.
4. HOME: I dont like the rig picture in the main menu, left of the text menu: I could not see what it is until zooming into the page....I would just keep the text menu or put real icons there which represent the contet of each menu item, not just one same grafic for all.
5. HOME: We KNOW already, that you "support the code of DX conduct" becauase there is a logo top right.
6. HOME: The EPC logo does not look nioce, please cut it round as the other 4 ROUND logos.
7. The footer menu and main menu should contain the same information. Your footer menu has one more (Useful information). Anyway......why do you use two menues at all?
8. AFAIK, in Europe you are obliged to use a legal disclaimer on your page...... there is none.

Regards
Michael

Much better now.
Just... I would use a different color for the Text menu...... White is not easy to see.

Hi Infidal,

I would recommend you to check the site in different browsers.
At least in Firefox it does not look very nice:

Hi Maxman,

Would you please refresh your browser and look again at the site, the image you have shown is of an older version of the site. I have revamped the main menu and it's totally different now.

Kind Regards

Great
Comments:
1. Is "contact me" intentionally red or is that en error from the mouse over?
2. Please scale your graphics on the awars page.....the page has a very long loading time because the jpg graphics are 700kB each while only 10kB each are necessary! Impossible to watch with a mobile device!
Your title grafics has only 30kB and is much bigger!

Hi Paul,

I will not criticize the design... that is matter of taste ;-)
I think functionally the site is okay and usable.
Check your disclaimer, I guess your should put YOUR name in it ;-)

Michael

Will do Michael,

Sorry if i gave you the impression that you were criticising the site, that was unintentional. I accept and welcome constructive criticism as i believe it makes me a better designer :)
